Did you make it to Major Nelson’s Tweet up? If so, you might have seen me there. I was the one that scored the first set of passes to the Xbox 360 E311 Media Briefing (Continue reading… I might be giving one of the pass’s away). They raffled off 30 sets and I just so happened to get my number called FIRST!
The tweet up was held at a bowling alley. This was no bowling alley I had ever been to and nothing like I imagined. This place was PIMP! They had a huge sports bar with lots of seating and TVs everywhere. Then in a separate room a huge area to bowl with maybe 20 lanes give or take. In the back was where the private party was held, the tweet up, where they had a room that could fit a few hundred people in with 4 private lanes we could bowl on, two or three nice size pool tables, a huge private bar and many separate seating areas with really nice white couches to lounge on.
After raffling off all the tickets, Mark Rein, VP of Epic games, you know, Epic, with the biggest game for 2011, Gears of War 3! He stopped by to say Hi. He mentions Gears was going to get a small change but wouldn’t say what it was. Then Major Nelson wanted him to tell an old story about how Epic games cost Microsoft a Billion dollars! The whole memory business with the original Xbox 360. Watch the video Stuff We Like posted below to hear what he said. I’m the bald head at the bottom of the video that looks like one of the balloons to the left of Mark. LOL
In closing, they raffled off some Halo schwag, and then wrapped it up. It was a great time, better than last year’s meet up, that’s for sure.
On our way out, we had to take a shot of this building just around the corner from the bowling alley. It had this huge The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim banner plastered on the side looking awesome! Can’t wait for that…
You still here? Well fortunately for one of you, we have an extra pass to give away to get you into the Xbox 360 E311 Media Briefing. As pictured below, it comes with stickers to personalize your badge. The little scribble on it is nothing really. OK, its Mark Rein’s autograph, and it’s yours!
All you have to do is follow us on twitter and watch for the tweet. You’ll know what tweet it is when you see it. There’s not much time, so be watching for it soon. And please, only those able to go try for it. For all the others that miss out, I’ll have some codes to give out that are sort of Gears related, so be watching for that a little later as well.
UPDATE: Only 2 hours left to arrive at the Galen Center for the Xbox 360 E311 Media Briefing. Who wants a pass? Contact me.
