I just got word from my contact that the Microsoft Store in the South Coast Plaza will be celebrating their grand opening on Thursday, March 24th, 2011. This is great news since I recently scored a few gift cards from the recent promotion from the Microsoft Store by recycling a few old cell phones. I hope they have some great door busters to use them on.
We have been following this opening since October of last year, so we’re looking forward to finally celebrating the grand opening. Below are all the happenings if you’re in the area and are able to join in the celebration:

We are kicking this off with our newest upcoming location at South Coast Plaza by giving the local community a chance to vote for local organizations to receive up to $1,000,000 in software grants!
- Help Girls Incorporated of Orange County provide year-round tween programs for girls in 7th, 8th and 9th grades and inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold.
- Support efforts of Project Tomorrow, one of the nation’s leading education non-profits, ensure that today’s students are well prepared to be tomorrow’s innovators, leaders and engaged citizens of the world.

Microsoft Store Grand Opening – Thursday, March 24, 2011:
- 8:30amPST – Press Preview Tour Come early for an opportunity to see the store before it opens and speak with Mika Krammer, general manager of merchandising, marketing and experiences for the Microsoft Stores.
- 9:30am-10:00amPST – Grand Opening Ceremony Join Microsoft COO Kevin Turner for a ribbon cutting ceremony where he will present more than $1 million in software grants to local organizations, based on how members of the local community voted on the Microsoft Store Facebook page.
- 10:00amPST – Doors open! Join us for a full day of celebration. We’ll be giving away gift bags with lots of freebies inside. You can also take advantage of great deals on PCs, Windows Phone 7, Xbox releases, and more.
Celebration Continues - Saturday, March 26, 2011
- 2:00pmPST – Selena Gomez, actress of Disney's Emmy Award Winning Wizards of Waverly Place and Platinum recording artist, will help celebrate the Microsoft Store opening with a special performance Come to the Grand Opening Ceremonies early to receive a gift bag and complimentary tickets to a special performance Saturday, March 26, by Selena Gomez. The first 150 people in line will receive two premier viewing tickets to the performance plus get an opportunity to meet Selena and receive an autograph after the show. The next 800 people in line will receive two premier viewing tickets to the performance. Additional general admission tickets will be given out while supplies last.
