The Halo: Reach embargo lifted and with it came an overload of reviews to read. Most don’t have time to read them all but find the closing comments is all you basically need from the review. It gives you, in a nut shell, the feeling and passion the reviewer got from the game if any. Let’s find out how Halo: Reach left some of the reviews feeling.
IGN - Halo: Reach Review By Erik Brudvig
Go back to where it all began for the ultimate Halo experience.
“Halo: Reach is a fantastic package, with several core components that on their own can outclass many other games. The campaign is excellent, backed by solid storytelling and a powerful audio-visual experience. The competitive multiplayer is familiar, yet brand new with a lot more options and a faster pacing. And the cooperative Firefight arcade mode has finally met its potential. Whether you like playing with friends like me or you're more of a lone wolf, Halo: Reach has evolved to the point where it'll make everyone happy. It's a fitting end to Bungie's involvement with the franchise, one that both references the past and injects new life into a tried and true formula. Newcomers and Halo fans alike will find plenty to love in Halo: Reach. Even if you've grown tired of the Halo formula through the years, I'd still recommend this game to you. It's just that good.”
IGN UK - Halo: Reach UK Review By Martin Robinson
Finish the fight? It's only just begun.
“Nine years in and on its fifth and final pass Bungie has created the definitive Halo experience, in which refinement is matched by the gentle revolutions of its new features. Armor abilities lend spark to a campaign that already boasts some of the series' finest level design and most stirring set-pieces, and they help enliven a multiplayer set that's beyond generous. It's a parting gift from Bungie that should keep players entertained through to the next generation; and if any other console shooter can better it in that time it'll be one hell of a feat.”
Destructoid – Review: Halo: Reach By Hamza CTZ Aziz
“Halo: Reach is everything a Halo fan has ever dreamed for. All that was lacking from previous Halo games is here and then some. This is Bungie's love letter to their fans and they've definitely gone out with a bang.”
G4TV - Halo: Reach Review By Kevin Kelly
“Chances are that if you’ve ever played another Halo game, you’ll be picking this up at launch. However, that’s not to say that newcomers to the franchise shouldn’t consider it: this is your optimal jumping-on spot with a brand-new title that follow a new team. The events might lead up the first Halo game, but you don’t need to know that to enjoy yourself. There’s a solid story here, with multiple interesting characters.
You almost need to look at Halo: Reach as two games, with one being the campaign you can tackle solo, or with up to three friends, and the other game as the multiplayer experience that has been pumped up with plenty of new opportunities for death. Oh, and fun. If you own an Xbox 360 and want some serious enjoyment, this is a must-have title.”
1UP - Halo: Reach Review By Thierry Nguyen
For its sendoff to the series, Bungie has crafted perhaps the finest Halo title yet.
“Even excusing the minor flaws such as slight storytelling or framerate issues, is it safe to call Halo: Reach the best Halo game ever? It's way too early to declare as such -- this is the type of proclamation best saved for years of study and hindsight, rather than in the immediate glow of a fresh release. But after seeing the perfect last shot of the campaign (in fact, it's so spot-on, that Bungie community director Brian Jarrard confirms that, unlike previous titles, there's no additional cinematic or end-scene for finishing on Legendary difficulty -- everyone sees the same last scene), and playing round after round of multiplayer, I can say that while I admire and respect every previous Halo title, Reach is the Halo that I absolutely love.”
------------------------------------------------------
It looks like Halo: Reach has everything and more we can ask for and should be an unbelievable game that not only true Halo fans will enjoy many years but even newcomers. All I can say from that is, the midnight launch can’t come soon enough!
Congrats and Thank you Bungie for the <3 letter!!!
