Vidmaster Challenge connected to Marathon?

I might have got it all wrong with the "Halo 3 Vidmaster Challenge and the Pot of Gold" post. Shortly after writing this theroy I posted it on Bungies forums and the Halo fanboys were not happy with the potential Pot of Gold. Then "Qualabee" mentioned "Vidmaster is a Marathon term".

Shortly after that I found a post hot on the Bungie forums, "Vidmaster Challenge - Connections with Bungie's Marathon Game" posted by "ZkeBall13". I looked into it and it totaly is connected to Bungies Marthon game in some way.

Take a look at Bungie's definition for Vidmaster:

Vid·Mas·ter \Vid-mas-ter\ noun (c. 1995): Bungie Software's definition of someone who has mastered Marathon to it fullest.

January 1995, Jason Jones (Bungie Software) posted on a few gaming newsgroup's with the subject line "the marathon vidmaster challenge..." Jason wrote:

"I challenge anyone who thinks they rule at Marathon to complete all of the game's levels on Total Carnage starting with only the pistol and x1 health (via Command-Option Begin Game). Upload your replays!"

Later, someone posted a comment on my "...Pot of Gold" post mentioning the reference to Bungie's Marathon as well but more interestingly that the Halo 3 Vidmaster Challenge achievement's features the Marathon icon or symbol. This makes it 100% Marathon related.

So if you get all the Vidmaster Challenge achievements what do you get? That is still the answer.

My theory might not be totally wrong with the "Render-to-video" since you might have to render a video of you mastering Halo 3, a new Marathon level, or something to that affect and then render the video posting it on Bungie.net for all to vote for the winner.
